Music 161: Cheers! and Thanks!

This is my last musical posting on this blog. For over three years I have posted a musical composition every week, and it’s time perhaps to let the well run dry or renew itself.

Thanks to all who have patiently listened over the 161 weeks! A good number of the pieces – perhaps 90% – were written for children. These days I’m not so surrounded by them as I used to be! The blog continues, but the music fades!

Thanks! and Cheers!

Music 9: Cheers

9cheers

Today’s little piece is a bit indolent. I often like to write “serial music”, that is (for those who know) in 12-tone rows, etc. If you don’t know what that is, it doesn’t matter. (Just take it that I’m a bit of a snob!)

I asked a couple of friends to give me 12 notes each, and this is the piece I wrote using those notes. It’s probably not everyones cup of tea!

However, here’s a toast – for this week I begin to collect the pension!

Cheers!
