Adriana’s main room was an open kitchen, sitting room, dining room. When she got up in the morning, in the dark, to make a coffee, she would turn on the light over the dining table. To turn the fluorescent kitchen light on was far too bright. It would be a rude awakening, especially before the first sip of morning coffee. The light over the dining table was softer; a dull, warm light.
On this particular morning Adriana groped her way towards the light switch as she usually did. She turned on the light. There was someone sitting in an armchair. Adriana screamed. The person did not move. Adriana tentatively approached. The person was dead.
Adriana phoned the police. Apparently the person was some sort of uncover agent so no matter how hard the author of this tale has tried, the person’s identity and why they were there remains a mystery. I apologise.
P.S. I MAY be away for several days as I have piles of work and little sight!!
Hope all is well soon.

I hope you get bumped up that waiting list, Bruce.

I was told by the optometrist that if I paid for an appointment with a specialist then you can get bumped up the waiting list pretty fast (that is to get the free govt. operation). She said it was only $120 and worked wonders. So I did that and the reception when I went to pay said, “That’ll be 360 dollars please” (this for 10 minutes!). I didn’t blink an eye!

Oh my dog! They do like their money, those specialists. So, do you have a theatre date now. And do you have formal garb for this momentous occasion?
It makes me cranky when I hear about this sort of thing happening. I mean that you are forced into a bit of bribery to get attention. Grrr.

Bravo to you to keep at it despite the cataracts. I have the ability to wait a long time for the answer to a puzzle!

I find dead people in my garage all the time. No idea how they got there.

Could be worse – you might have little work and piles!
I have a feeling we might hear more from Adriana.

I knew you’d been out of town so welcome back – just in time for a Cosby posting – I haven’t looked on your site as yet but I presume you will! Regarding health – when health care is free you await your turn!!! That’s the part they don’t tell you about.

No I didn’t on him…I just got back yesterday so that is the reason…
Yea here…they will see you fast because that insurance money is there.

What a shock. And it started out such a soothing story. I hope you get an appointment soon, Bruce. Healthcare seems to be cratering just about everywhere.

I have never dealt with uncover agents before. No wonder Adriana was stumped. On a personal note, sir, that is a ghastly excuse for your upcoming disappearance.

Guess we can’t fault you for not being able to see who the dead guy is. Hope things work out sooner rather than later.

Adriana was seeing things perhaps. Like still sleep walking or suffering from schizophrenia. For instance, I woke up this morning still thinking my dream was true and then realised ‘it was a dream, only a dream’ to quote a Neil Young song.

And now Adriana has been plunged into a nightmare of mistaken identities and aeroplane chases….hope you get sorted before it’s too late for Adriana!

I am on the waiting list to get my eye cataracts attended to – but the NZ health system doesn’t seem to be in a hurry.
