In this piece of music I have taken the rhythm of a C.P.E. Bach (1714-1788) sonata movement, and applied the type of serial scale that Arnold Schoenberg (1874-1951) could have used. The result is… interesting! There are snippets of the Bach unchanged. The piece ends with the playing of the Schoenberg-like serial scale employed in the piece and C.P.E. Bach’s scale of C minor which he used.

Thanks Uma – I THINK I am learning towards creating a number of those poems in the adapted “luc bat” form. Do you think that’s a good idea to concentrate on that?

I like this–and thanks for the context, because it’s outside time. Mixing these two men together is not so far out as it might seem on its face. And there’s a little bit of Hickory Dickory Dock in there because of the Bach rhythm–and the tempo you chose no doubt. I get clues to songs on squeaky subway escalators, so seven notes is bound to spark something–so don’t be insulted. And do take time off to do some poems. I await education on luc bats! And you do have a garden to tend…

Thanks Lisa – and I have cakes to cook!!! I dunnit! And it’s okay. It’s rather good! But I forgot to buy nuts would you believe – so used raisins instead. It was a mistake – so I will do another one properly as soon as this one is devoured!

Ooh, glad you cooked the cake, but, yeah, raisins wouldn’t do it. I always have nuts of some sort on hand and like almonds or walnuts in that as they cut the sweetness a bit and add some crunch. Pecans would be less contrast. If you added oats, that might have worked as well.
