I like wild bramble roses the best. I’m not sure why. It’s certainly not because of the prickles! I think it’s their simplicity. And also the joy of “suddenly coming across them” in all their profusion!

Beauty and briars. I also love these roses – wish they would grow in Chapel Hill but our soil has too much clay. Nice music – sounds Elizabethan!

I didn’t believe it at first, but when I lived in Asheville, NC, I was told that everything grew except radishes! And it was true. No edible root – just all leaves!
