Music 118: Wild bramble roses

I like wild bramble roses the best. I’m not sure why. It’s certainly not because of the prickles! I think it’s their simplicity. And also the joy of “suddenly coming across them” in all their profusion!

Your music presents every bit you have said in words: coming across the wild bramble roses suddenly, guarded by birds who protest the intrusion of the visitor. I could see it all in amazing clarity.

I didn’t believe it at first, but when I lived in Asheville, NC, I was told that everything grew except radishes! And it was true. No edible root – just all leaves!
