(The poetic form selected for this month is the Standard Habbie aka Burns Stanza).
Seasonal comparison
Seems to be the thing that’s in:
You’re like a summer’s drink of gin –
At first all pop
But once the alcohol sets in
You’re really hot.
I’ll pour myself another one
And when that’s drunked I think I’m done
And hope we could be in for fun.
You leave? Aw super.
Why go before the night has run?
Party pooper.

I do like this, especially with the picture! I can imagine the lady rising quickly, throwing on her flapper dress and tearing out of the house. There’s a reason her shoes are still on!

I never noticed the shoes! Thanks Lisa!

Well, although I’m still mourning the exit of the ghazal, this form could grow on me.

I may have read Standard Habbie before but I am sure yours are going to be memorable. What a picture to choose with the jaunty poem!
