      They are called Magpie ducks – related to the Pekin ducks. Would you believe, they were developed in Wales by a man called Mr Drake! They are quite a rare breed in New Zealand – in fact, I don’t think they’re very common anywhere!

    Whatever happened to the country-duck and town-duck thing? Would the town ducks will have a different music? On second thoughts, the music fits everything duckish –even haiku writers.

      A town duck would be played by a seedy clarinet, whereas usually a country duck would be played by a pastoral oboe. I hope all waddle in time or they’ll be out for a duck.
