Nora: My word, it’s getting cold these day. Winter has certainly arrived.
Mavis: The first snow always starts about now. What a downfall last night!
Nora: We’ve had the fire going for over a month now.
Mavis: My husband keeps looking through the window. I tell you, if the weather keeps up like this I’ll have to let him in.

How is Delia doing?

She had cancer of the bladder. They operated (major) and it was touch and go for a couple of days. She is now home and on all sorts of pills – and we’ll see how long she will cope with all that… Needless to say, the 9 year old “Free to a good home” no longer holds true!

Just make sure he wipes his feet!

Tough cookie, that Mavis.

A tough cookie that thinks she can have her cake and eat it.

That’ll toughen him up, for sure. Big wimp.

He probably wants to come inside just to play on the computer anyway.

She should have installed a hubby-flap in the door.

That’s a brilliant idea!

One of them had to be institutionalised, husband or the wife; certainly not the winter.

With the winter solstice tomorrow/next day here in the south, I think that winter should become an institution!

I like the flap in the door idea. I’m sorry about Delia. That has to be very worrying.

It’s the roller coaster ride of she’ll be ok… she won’t be okay… etc. If dogs could talk it would be easier!

She’s probably just thrilled to be home and then exhausted from being thrilled. It could take a while.
