John and Lilian were having an affair. The opportunity arose for them to have a whole weekend together.
They found a suitable motel. The advertisement for the Morning Breeze Motel said “QUIET and PEACEFUL”.
Quiet and peaceful was just what John and Lilian desired.
All the other motel guests that weekend complained about the noise.

I don’t get it. What noise?

On a road trip with my mother many years ago, we stayed in one such peaceful motel next door to a happy couple.

I hope mother took some time to explain that when people use the motel swimming pool and splash around that, in their excitement, they forget to think of other guests.

I was an adult at the time and thankfully she was hard of hearing, but all that splashing was very distracting.

!! I was in Siena, Italy, and making a “pilgrimage” to the places of Saint Catherine of Siena. This was years ago. I was so excited to discover my hotel was right next door to the house where St Catherine lived. But through the wall on the other side of my hotel room was anything but saintly!!

Perhaps Catherine’s ghost was in residence. You never know what a “mystical marriage” might sound like…

😀 It was on the opposite side from her house, so she was possibly bi-locating as well!

In an apartment I rented in Italy, Harry seemed to be meeting Sally most nights.

But of course! Who ever said that sex is silent? But they could have been a bit more considerate – perhaps a gag?

By the way, Bruce, to change the subject for a moment: Your cow, Truffle, looks so sweet!

Yes – she is a very pretty cow – a Simmental/Cross. She is destined for the freezer at the end of the year!

Puts me in mind of Paul Simon’s “Duncan“:
Couple in the next room / Bound to win a prize / They’ve been going at it all night long

I was a Simon and G. fan way back – but lost track of them after the split. (Which I think possibly ages me!) I shall seek out Duncan.
