The 2-year-old girl who died in a Southland crash last week has been named as Sapphire Airini Webster-Stoddard.
The girl died on Thursday morning after being thrown from a rolling car in a “violent crash” on the expressway.
Senior Constable Lynette Tripp said there was a restraint in the rear of the car and police were looking at the possibility that the girl was not restrained at the time of the crash.
The young girl died at the scene, after attempts to resuscitate her by ambulance staff and motorists who had stopped to help.

You are an evil man, Bruce Goodman. Here I am, steadying to face some horror about a child’s death in a fatal crash—or maybe a socio-political satire on the nanny state and how it requires seat belts— when I am smacked with the reality of inane blog comments !…..it’s death by a thousand paper cuts….or being tickled by a tribe of monkeys into oblivion….Uncle!!!!!!

Ha! Ha! What a delightful response! Thank you! Delighted to have pecked you to inanity by a thousand little ducklings!

She sure does. I didn’t bleed much after the last one.

Hmm…maybe I should just stick with the ducklings pecking at my toes….

As a kid I would always tip the wheat for the ducks over my bare feet and get a free foot massage. It tickled!

I find if the fingers bleed after a pedicure that the glitter sticks on better.

Typical male, can’t tell his manicures from his pedicures. But, far be it from me to be a critic, eh?

You have to watch out for his language, Yvonne. He said PERSONALLY I am bald….which could mean that IMPERSONALLY, he isn’t bald at all…..

I enjoyed that link ! I also found several very interesting videos on Youtube about the Australian and Kiwi accents, which to me are even more fascinating than the slang or vocabulary. Fush and chups! (I’m practicing…)

No good being able to say fush and chups if you haven’t gut a fush and chup shup.

You are such a tonsorial artist, Bruce

Do you know, Derrick – no one ever knows this before but it’s true – the Vatican did away with the tonsure, and dated the abolition of it on a certain date. I was due to get the tonsure the day before that date. They contacted the Vatican and asked if they could use the new (non-tonsure) ritual. They came back with “negativo” – or what ever the Latin is. I believe I was the last person in the history of the world – in a thousand years or so – to get the legitimate tonsure. Bow down before me!!!!
