Derrick will know… since we both use the phrase, Cynthia, it may very well be an expression used in the upper echelons of society. Sylvie uses it and she speaks French!

I drove through town on Boxing Day and was truly gob-smacked! I saw your music in action!! It took me twenty minutes to traverse a bit that would usually flash by in seconds due to the hordes of bag and box laden folk rushing from shop to shop ……….. Unbelievable! [And no-one looked happy either!!] It reminded me why I don’t go anywhere near the city centre unless I really, really have no alternative! 🙂

I was simply citing the reason why I had to go into town myself. The man in the Liquor Store asked if I had a good Christmas. I said I wouldn’t need to buy more wine if I hadn’t enjoyed Christmas!

That’s very funny! We’re in that season at present over here – the newspaper reports all tell of things that could have been written months ago but made to look like today’s news!
