Music 56: I’m pleased to be a bee

56bee

Come on! Don’t be shy! Sing along!

I’m pleased to be a bee.
I’m pleased to be a bee.
I’m as pleased as pleased can be
To be a bee that’s pleased to be a bee.

If you wish to follow the written music it can be viewed here.

So yes, I visited the written score, then listened and sang along a couple of times. Cute, and charming, I said, but my head was still singing it. I went into the kitchen and sang it to the onions I was chopping….I went to the privy and sang it to the paper roll..I went to let the dog out, and sang it to the backyard, and now I’m really trying not to sing it, even tho’ I like it.
At least it’s not “where the bee sucks, there suck I….”

Were I to insinuate myself into this lofty discussion, I would have taken the word “fly” in a whole nuther direction….but I’m not really in this. I’m just a fly on the wall.

And this was not in my email so I missed coming by until I heard it being sung [yes, really] You may have just composed your first hit song…… it’s one of those b things that once in your head refuses to leave………….

It could be sort of like an advertising jingle: I’m pleased I use Cuddly fabric conditioner! And I suspect that a certain Danella might have been singing it??? !

I’ll bee the first to admit, I haven’t a clue how to read sheet music. But this is one hypnotic little tune! I agree with arligwoman that the skittering flight pattern is evident in the written music as well as the emotive audio notes. Watch out Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov, the flight of this bee is coming at you with a sting!
