66. Hurry down

66hurry

Neta loved traditional Christmas carols. She detested modern Christmas songs, such as Santa Baby.

Santa baby, I want a yacht and really that’s not a lot;
Been an angel all year; Santa baby,
So hurry down the chimney tonight.

“It’s so materialistic,” said Neta. “Why can’t we make do with the traditional values that used to shine at Christmas? Why have we become so mean? So selfish? So inward looking?”

Come and trim my Christmas tree with some decorations bought at Tiffany;
I really do believe in you;
Let’s see if you believe in me…

Suddenly, Neta fell in love (just prior to Christmas) with Joffery (no, it’s not misspelt). Joffery was rich. He was handsome. He worked out at the gym every day. He was generous. Neta knew Joffrey was the one for her. Trouble was, he loved Christmas songs, such as Santa Baby.

“What the heck!” said Neta. “I love them too.”

Santa baby, forgot to mention one little thing… A ring…
I don’t mean on the phone; Santa baby,
So hurry down the chimney tonight.
